Workshop Assistant

Full or Part-time vacancy

£8 -£15/hr

As a rural e-commerce business with a passion for beautiful wood and a global customer base, we’re looking for a practical team player with a ‘can do’ approach who can assist and eventually take a leading role in our varied and interesting production process. With time, you'll become a key member of our friendly team. You’ll have good physical fitness and be able to demonstrate an active interest in wood.

The role

• Cutting hardwood blanks on the bandsaw and chop-saw

• Sanding & preparing wood for sale

• Processing and packing orders

• Maintaining a tidy workshop environment

• Cleaning work and welfare areas

​If you are interested in the role, but not sure if you have the right experience, we can offer training to bring you up to the right level.

We’re looking for someone who must have;

• Some woodworking experience

• Initiative and the ability to adapt and be flexible

• A ‘can do’ approach with a willingness to learn

• An interest in wood

• Good physical fitness, there will be some heavy lifting

• Own transport due to our rural location

• A friendly demeanour and be willing to get on well with others

• A desire to work as part of a team

• Have a methodical work ethic and be able to maintain a tidy workplace

 

Hours and Pay:

This role is offered on a self employed basis

£8 -£15/hr depending on age and experience

Normal working hours 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
