Box wood log blanks
The Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) is fine-grained, dense and has a delicate light yellow colour. It has traditionally been used to make chisel handles, chess pieces and musical instrument parts.
These blanks were cut from trees felled in Dorset, UK in Spring 2021 and so are unseasoned (or 'green'). The Box tree is very slow growing and often twists and turns as it grows resulting in log blanks which are sometimes a bit knarly (a funny shape). Please bear this in mind.
