Box Woodturning Log Blanks
The Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) is fine-grained, dense and has a delicate light yellow colour. It has traditionally been used to make chisel handles, chess pieces and musical instrument parts.
These blanks were cut from trees felled in Dorset, UK in 2020. The Box tree is very slow growing and often twists and turns as it grows, resulting in log blanks which are sometimes a bit gnarly (a funny shape). Please bear this in mind.
Suitable for woodturning or wood carving.
