Spoon Carving Blanks

The traditional art of spoon carving is enjoying something of a renaissance. There is an inexplicable beauty in a simple hand carved wooden spoon. Our specially selected spoon carving blanks offer you the opportunity to explore this using a variety of interesting and characterful timbers.
 
Our boxes contain a mix of different sizes and species selected by us from the species list below. We will always try to include as many different species as possible. All the blanks are seasoned and labelled with their species, but do not have a sketched spoon outline - that's up to you!
 
There are three different boxes available:
Box A - 6 spoon carving blanks. £24
Box B - 12 spoon carving blanks. £36
Box C - 18 spoon carving blanks. £46
 
Size range:
150 - 300mm (6" - 12") long
30 - 80mm (1 1/4" - 3") wide
12 - 40mm (1/2" - 1 1/2") thick
 
The blanks are all air dried and ready to carve.
 
Species list:
Ash, Walnut, Apple, Spalted Beech, Hawthorn, Sweet Chestnut, English Walnut, Horse Chestnut, Holm Oak, Cedar of Lebanon, Eucalyptus, English Oak, Laburnum, Mahogany, Brown Oak, Iroko, Meranti, Olive Ash, Beech, Silver Birch, Wild Cherry, Elm, Holly, Lime, Yew, Sycamore, Lacewood, plus others.
 
The pictures show representative samples of the blanks in each box, although no two boxes are likely to be the same. There are also pictures of some examples of beautiful hand carved spoons (not included).
