Second Quality English Spalted Beech Bowl Blank Packs

Turning spalted timber is like revealing hidden treasure and each piece is totally unique making it a joy to work with. 
 
These spalted blanks are blanks which don't meet the standard for our quality listings and may contain soft areas, splits, bark inclusion, holes, and knots as shown in the photos. Despite this, they are often very beautiful and there are some real gems amongst them. 
 
They have been cut from a consignment of trees from a local farmer near Hemyock, Devon. Most of the blanks will be Spalted Beech but there may occasionally be other species too. 
 
Some may be particularly suited to resin filling.
 
Centre marked - quicker set up & less waste
Planed on both faces - less waste, quick & easy to mount on the lathe
Fully seasoned/Air dried - less stressed than kiln dried & easier to turn
 
Packs of 9 bowl blanks 35 - 50mm (1 1/2 - 2") thick, 105mm to 230mm (4 - 9") in diameter.
