African Walnut Bowl Blanks

A rich, dark brown timber which is hard but not particularly dense, African Walnut can work well for turning or carving. The grain structure is consistent and will sand and polish very well.
 
Planed on both faces - less waste, quick to mount on the lathe
Centre marked - ready to put on the lathe
Fully seasoned - easier to turn
Waxed edges - ready to store if necessary

Thickness: 50mm (2") or 75mm (3")
 
African Walnut is also known by its Latin name Lovoa trichilioides. It is actually a type of Mahogany, but gets its name because of its similarity to Walnut both in colour and its seeds (nuts).
