Brown Oak Bowl Blanks - 50mm (2") thick

Brown Oak is not a distinct species of oak, but rather refers to oak that has been infected with the fungus Fistulina Hepatica. This has the effect of turning the wood an attractive deep brown colour. Once the wood has been cut and dried, the fungus dies, leaving a rich golden brown timber.

The tree from which these blanks were cut came from a private estate in Somerset.
